Pellet grills is where it’s at these days. If you have one, you know how amazing they are. If you’re new to this type of grilling, you’re most likely intrigued. From our standpoint (we own one) it is the best way to grill in a slow and steady way without having to stand there the entire time sweating your you know what off all day. Our personal favorite, by far, comes from the folks at Traeger. If you haven’t heard of them before, you’re really missing out. Your entire summer (and life, pretty much) is about to change.
In full disclosure, we own a Traeger. Don’t worry, we purchased it ourselves as we don’t take any freebies here in exchange for a review. Not only do we love it, but they’ve been named as the best pellet grill this year by The Wirecutter via the New York Times. Sure, it’s going to cost you a bit, but it really is worth it. And, we found some options that actually are pretty price approachable.
For us, the most affordable for what we needed was the Traeger Pro 575. We got ours for just under $800 and purchased it directly from their site. You can also find them online at places we shop at like The Home Depot, over at Walmart, and even online at Amazon. Plus, if you have Prime via Amazon you can get it delivered for free!
Overall, what we love the best includes things like:
- Super easy to use (like shockingly easy)
- Maintains heat keeping things tender, juicy and not overcooked (if you don’t want it to be!)
- It connect via Wi-Fi so you can control and monitor from your phone
Look, for us this is basically the Cadillac of grills. Can you find something similar for a cheaper price? Sure. But remember, you get what you pay for, so if you’re in it for the long haul, you really can’t go wrong with Traeger. While prices are always subject to change, we’ve seen starting prices at only $399 and then going up to almost $2,000. Depending on what you need, there really are great choices for everyone from total newbie to grill-master!
Some of their most popular options include:
- The Pro 575 – Learn More Here
- The Timberline Series – Learn More Here
- The Ironwood Series – Learn More Here
Our tip: The Pro 575 is best for beginners and the Timberline Series is best for true grill-masters (either in training or legit professionals). You really can’t go wrong and we know you’ll become as obsessed with yours as we are with ours!
The Deal With the Deals:
So, we did find that they offer some deals directly on their website – which is great. Overall, in their deals section you can save up to 40% off the original pricing, which totally helps. This can include the actual grills themselves or the accessories and essential you need to up your overall grilling game. Check out their official deals and sales here!
In the past, they had a pretty spectacular Black Friday sale where they were giving $200 off select bundles and $100 off their Pro series. Not too shabby!
To Gift or Not to Gift:
We’re answering this one with an astounding yes! Just about anyone would be psyched to be gifted something for them, and while we’ve added them to our Ultimate Grill Guide, we put together this quick gift guide for some of the pickiest people on your gifting list:

The Deal With Promo Codes:
We researched this one for ourselves (we were hopeful), however, we hate to break the news to you but Traeger doesn’t give out promo code discount or coupons to other websites. And while we don’t have any exclusives here at all, they do offer them from time to time – but directly on their website. It’s the only place you’ll be able to find them if/when they have them. So, your best bet is to subscribe to their emails and they’ll send you over any promo offers or upcoming sales they’re having. Don’t waste your time looking anywhere else!
