Our Take:
We consider ourselves mattress aficionados, mainly because we’re obsessed with getting a good night sleep and have currently tested out 5 of the top brands on the market this year. Hey, we take our sleep-game super serious.
One of our new favorite brands (well, at least new to us) is Saatva. Of course, the name is just fun to say, but their mattresses having been blowing up all over the internet so we had to give them a try. Spoiler Alert: They’re amazing. If you haven’t heard of them yet and are in the market for a new mattress, you definitely need to consider them.

We’re not huge fans of the “mattress in a box” trend. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with them, it’s just that there’s something about the idea of them popping out of the box like those Pillsbury biscuits that we’re just not that into. That’s just one of the reasons that we totally heart Saatva and have named them as one of the best mattress brands (this year) in our Ultimate Mattress Guide. If you don’t care what we have to say, they’ve also been super highly rated by independent sleep experts too this year!
Now, if you know us, you know we are really in love with our Serta iComfort from Mattress Firm. Sure, it doesn’t have that cool factor, but it really does the trick. For us, our favorite runner up is Saatva’s award winning classic mattress (the hybrid innerspring version).
Let’s just review it like it is. It’s comfy AF. That goes without saying. And its back support really helps us steer clear of all our morning creeky back and neck issues we were used to waking up with. Turning 40 is less than fun. But, also, their prices can’t be beat for the quality and luxury you’re really getting. We’ve seen similar mattresses priced as much as 2 or 3 times higher. For what?!
You can choose from Plus Soft, Luxury Firm, or Firm (like, regular firm). We were afraid of the regular firm and wanted something in the middle. The good news is that they offer a 180-night home trial. Most other brands we review typically only offer 100 days, which is still a lot – but 180 is pretty amazing. They also offer a 15-year warranty and free white glove delivery service. With some other brands (we won’t name them) we actually had to spend $150 for their “white glove service.” Worst.
If you’re interested in learning more about what’s under the hood, so to speak, here are the tech specs:
- It has a 3″ comfy pillow top.
- Individually pocketed coils.
- A patented spinal zone technology for extra support where needed.
- Breathable hypoallergenic cotton.
This may be TMI, but we’re super sweaty sleepers. Like, really bad. This helped control that. Look, we still sweat, but it’s been happening less and less and it’s definitely less intense as it used to be.
We can say we’ve been sleeping better since we got it. Hey, maybe it’s just mental since it’s a new mattress but, for sure, we haven’t needed the Salonpas once on our back or neck since we’ve been sleeping on it. That’s kind of a miracle for us! They have a bunch of other popular mattresses too so, if you’re in the need right now def give them a look. It’s been a really great experience. We think it’s totally worth it.
The Deal With the Deals:
You can typically get some really great deals all throughout the year, which comes in handy if you miss their major Black Friday sale. We did. Ugh. So the silver lining is that they’ve typically offered some really decent deals on a variety of mattress direct on their site even if there isn’t a major holiday taking place during the month you’re looking to buy.
On average we’ve seen that you can save anywhere from $100 – $200 off select originally priced mattresses. They list out all their current (and official) sales right here on their site!

Sure it might sound like a weird gift, but we’ve actually gifted mattresses before. It’s totally unique, unexpected, and appreciated. So we think Saatva makes a great gift idea. The Deal With Promo Codes:
We’ve been emailed this question a lot lately. So we wanted to clear this up so we’re all on the same page. Saatva doesn’t give out coupons or have promo code offers for other sites (like, we don’t even have them here either). Further research (and an email to their customer service dept) confirms this.
However, outside of their exclusive sales, we did find that they do offer discount codes for certain everyday heroes as a thank you for their service. A wide variety of nurses and those in the military can get up to $225 of their order. Double check to make sure the offer is still valid, but it’s a really generous one! Check out the offers here!
