Best Men's Eyeglasses 2024 - Cheap Glasses & Frames Online for Men

In the market for some glasses? Same. Whether you’re looking to update your style, need a stronger prescription, or just want an extra pair of frames – these are some of my favorite eyeglasses (I even own a few of these) that won’t break the bank  and  pair well with your face shape.

Table of Contents

You can change up your glasses as often as you  change up your shoes  and you don’t have to spend a ton of money doing so. And, if you’re like me, you’re totally  hooked on the nerdy glasses trend  that I’ve been seeing (pun sort of intended) everywhere.

Back in the day you used to have to spend hundreds (and hundreds) of dollars on your glasses and God-forbid you ever broke them (or lost them). You were basically finished. Now, with increases competition and more direct-to-consumer brands there are plenty of great options at pretty low prices – and this even includes designer frames with prescriptions. I’ll break down all some of my favorite options at a variety of price-points below, but first –  how do you know  which frames go with with your actual face shape? Let’s figure this out together.

The Best Glasses For Your Face Shape

Below is a little handy-dandy guide to help you decipher which glasses are best for you based on your face shape. It’s not the gospel, but just a cheat-sheet, if you will.

ROUND FACE

First things first, a round face does not = fat. It could (of course) but I’m talking about the width and the height being the same. Typically, you’ll find yourself having slightly bigger cheeks, a curvier chin, and a wider forehead. Embrace all those dimensions and go for a pair of glasses that are more rectangular in shape. They’ll help to make your face appear a bit thinner and longer. And go for frames that have a bit of an uptick to them in the corners because it’ll help to raise your cheek appearance.

OVAL FACE

Well lucky you.  You have an oval shaped face.  This means that, pretty much, any style frames are going to look perfect on you.  Yawn.  Oval faced peeps are typically categorized having faces that are taller than wide.  I recommend going with square or rectangular frames to add some contrast.  You should stay away from eyeglasses that are too small or too large.  If something is going to wrap around your face, you’ll probably want to stay away from those.

SQUARE FACE

If you’re ever called a ‘Blockhead’ we feel your pain. Those of us who are square faced typically have a strong (square) jawline and forehead (and your chin will angle out). Basically, you’re like a Superman cartoon. In order to balance out your leading-man looking face I recommend minimal frames that are typically round (like circular frames). Thin metal wires will look great. I’m not saying you can’t go for the thicker acetate frames (you do you), but you may want to pass on them.

HEART SHAPED FACE

This one is easy to decipher. Your face is, literally, shaped like a heart (sort of). You’ll have a wider forehead, high cheekbones, and a more narrow chin. Sometimes those of us with heart-shaped faces have a more difficult time finding frames that fit our face correctly. Your best bet is to go with round or circular frames because it’ll really help to balance out your face (hello wider forehead!)

The Best Eyeglasses to Buy Online

Now that we’ve got that all sorted out, I’ve rounded up some of the coolest and most unique men’s glasses this season, broke them down by face-shape, and will even let you now if there are additional ways you can save a little at each retailer.

My favorite is the matte black, but they also come in grey, Havana blue, black and green combo, and more.

I also love how light-weight they are. They almost feel like they’re just floating on your face (almost). And while I also love black, you can also get them in additional options like black on gold, matte black on rubber gold, and more.

The Best Ways to Buy Glasses Online

Gone are the days where you have to go into your local eyewear store to pick out some glasses in a high-pressure situation.  Not only is buying online more fun, but there are typically more styles and colors to choose from.  Plus, you can shop at your leisure.

If you plan on buying online here are some tips, tricks, and things to be prepared for in order to make your shopping experience quick, simple and hopefully, cheap.

1.  Know Your Prescription:  Before shopping online, make sure you have an up-to-date prescription from your eye doctor.  Most online retailers, especially if you’ve never shopped them before, are going to ask you this before you can complete your order.

2.  Understand Your Face Shape:  Different frame styles suit different face shapes, so it’s important to understand which style would best suit you. Look at my above online guide or consult with a virtual stylist to help you make the right decision, especially if you don’t really know what your face shape is all about.

3.  Use Virtual Try-On Tools: Most online eyewear retailers offer virtual try-on tools that allow you to upload a photo of yourself and see how different glasses will look on your face. This can be a helpful way to narrow down your options.  It’s also way faster than those brands that’ll send you a bunch of pairs to try on first before you commit to buying.

4.  Compare Prices: Compare prices across different online retailers to ensure you’re getting the best deal. Keep in mind that cheaper prices may not always mean better quality, so be sure to check reviews and the retailer’s reputation before making a purchase.  Just about all of my picks above can be found at multiple retailers (I usually list two per pair).  While the prices may be the same, some will offer buying incentives, free shipping, at least 10% off with email sign up, etc.

5. Pay Attention to the Measurements: Make sure you pay attention to the measurements of the eyeglasses themselves, including the frame width, lens height, and bridge width. This will help ensure a proper fit.

6.  Go to Your Eye Exam Regularly: Even if you’re buying glasses online, it’s important to get an eye exam regularly to make sure your prescription is up-to-date and to check for any potential eye health issues.  The last thing you want is to buy online, get your glasses, and then realize your prescription is too weak.

If you liked my picks for some of the most stylish and on-trend options above, I think you’ll love to see  some of my favorite cologne brands  this season, some of the  best perfumes women are loving  and – heck – even  some of the most popular toys for 2024.  I’m trying to make all your online shopping choices much easier!
