   In season 1, Amber went to the doctor because she was “stressed” (I put that in quotes because I am certain “stressed” is some sort of code for “completely off her nut”) and he prescribed something for depression. Obviously it was not strong enough.
   And please oh please let the MTV cameras follow her through this whole investigation and Amber’s inevitable assault of a police officer.

   Amber took too many mini thins again. Explains the weight loss and the erratic behavior. She should move in with April and let Catelynn and Gary raise Becky, Darlene, DJ and Leah.

   The prosecutors may not be able to use the MTV footage as evidence of domestic abuse (they claim video footage dates can be altered) but they can subpoena the film crew to testify. Amber will just get probation and Debra will shine her trash claw and pass it down to Amber like a relay-race baton.

   I did some research and it would really explain her weight loss and behavior. I read some of her “Formspring” and she was always up all night and couldn’t sleep.

    And yeah, she’ll get investigated but will just be on probation and do stupid community service. CPS/DSS will probably be in the home, making scheduled visits, but they probably won’t take Leah away. You basically have to throw your child down the stairs after force feeding them meth to get them taken away. What the state considers “ok” is pathetic. By not making unscheduled visits how can they ever know the truth?! If she knows CPS is coming over, Amber will totally pull a Monique and be a sweet, loving mother. So, let’s start a campaign right now to prevent poor little Leah from becoming a “White Precious.” Her book would totally be titled “The White Precious Jones: The Leah Leann Shirley Story.”

    Anyone else think Amber’s mentor is April? Seriously, I bet this is what Ole Ape was like in her “younger days” before the meth showed itself in her eyes and caused her to get some fake chompers.

    First, I love your weekly recap of teen mom. Obviously, Amber has mental problems. She loves the attention of being pathetic. She has spent three years on a freaking GED! She studies for it all the time (or whines about not being able to study). She can’t even pick up the laundry when she knows a TV crew is going to be there? She lays around all the time. She’s only out of bed/off the couch to bitch slap Gary.

    I think she and Gary both should be forced to take parenting classes and anger management. Even in the aftershow interview she was rude to Gary and took no responsibility for her actions. Gary is no prize but he tried to kick him down the stairs!

    Actually, the tape can be admitted as evidence. If there is evidence that it has been altered, it can can be excluded. The crew can be questioned along with others involved in the taping to testify whether it has been altered, and if so, if there is an unaltered–raw- version which could then be admitted. The mere possibility of altering does not preclude the admission of taped or photographic evidence.

    The filmed footage should be Exhibit A if there is a prosecution.

    Doesn’t Gar actually have to press charges for any of this to matter? Obviously he didn’t when she beat his ass, and the Anderson, IN news source said right now they are together in TN still filming. What the crap would they charge her with? Slapping her bf on TV 5 months ago? As much as I would love to see Roseanne spend some time in the clinker, it’s not gonna happen over this.

    DCS could still get involved. One could only hope.

    The victim has nothing to do with pressing charges in a DV case. (have you ever watched Cops?) It’s the responsibility of the state to press charges. It’s because victims are sometimes too afraid, or too dead, to press charges against the abuser. And since Gary could possibly be putting his daughter at risk with a violent person, there’s even more reason for the state to step in regardless of how much time passed since the televised incident.

    Yes, I’ve watched “Cops.” Especially the scenes where said “Cops” are explaining to the victim that they have to press charges against the attacker. They say things like, “Do you want to press charges, ma’am?”. I suppose the huge difference in this case is the fact that there is clear video evidence of the attack.

    April originally DID press charges against Butch in their DV case (even though she said she was drunk and didn’t know what she was saying) but that’s why she can’t “take it back” now that he’s in jail…

    Rikcrik is right: if its remotely clear DV has occured, the offending party is charged, whether the victim is the one to press charges or not. They’re asked as a formality, but it isn’t necessary for an arrest to be made. Like he said, sometimes the victim is too afraid to press charges, or may even be under such powerful mind control that they don’t want to be “responsible” for getting the person in legal trouble.

    Either way, I hope something does come of this, its such a shame. Amber needs help with whatever mental issues she has, they’re only going to get worse. Gary def acts like he’s been a victim of abuse (in his childhood) – the way he just takes her treatment then goes right back to her. He’s no angel, nor is he superdad, but he’s by far the lesser of two evils. He doesn’t deserve the abuse. Neither does Leah. Hope he gets his act together so he can make things right for the baby.

    @Jaz- The laws on drugs around children must vary by state. I know where I live a child cannot be removed from the home based on drugs unless the parents give the substance to them. I know too many social workers who pretty much bang their head against the wall with this issue!!!

    Amber is a trainwreck. I am also pissed at MTV. If you want to make money off adults beating on each other, whatever. But when a child is involved, it’s just wrong. When Gary and Amber were screaming at each other and Leah was standing between them, she was in danger and the crew just kept filming. Someone needs to protect that child, not film the arguments and make money off of them.

    You know there are teenagers out there that are looking at what Amber is doing and seeing her as a role model. When she says, “Sometimes I just have to fight for what I believe in,” you know there are girls cheering her on. Sick.

    Amber is the most unfit parent I have ever seen. I have a child of my own and there hasn’t been one hour since my sons been born that he didnt have a fresh sheet on his mattress and a clean room. She shoots her mouth off that she bought everything in her place yet she can’t afford sheets?!!!! Come on, that’s just ignorant. And on top of that you have to do what’s best for your child, why couldn’t that dumb girl (not referring to her GED thing or actual education) just be gracious that Gary’s mom even brought her some sheets for Leah. But no she is embarrassed that she knows she doesn’t have any sheets but doesn’t mind looking crazy by beating the crap out of a guy who did have a single threatening/ violent reaction to anything that girl throws at him. Granted he is not the greatest guy in the world but I love being with my child as much as I can. Don’t blame him for trying to be around Leah. THE GIRL LITERALLY KICKED HIM IN THE BACK WHILE HE WAS WALKING DOWN THE STAIRS!!! What would she have done had he actually gone head first and broke his neck or any other bone for that matter. No child deserves to be yelled at just cause they cry. They are still in the learning and growing phase. They don’t know any better and the person they look at to help them with everything is set off by a crying baby. It’s a baby, that what they do. It like yelling at a baby for poopin in their diapers. They can’t help it but they can feel that anger emitting from the parents around them which will just casue more crying in the end. Just go to anger management and take some classes on how to( key words) raise a child in a healthy environment.

However if she was doing drugs she would have been undoubtedly caught with all those cameras around here, not to mention other people finding the paraphernalia, etc. Just because you looked up adderall or meth on the internet and found some DARE bullshit symptoms and signs and you think “wow, she kinda acts like that” does not mean she’s on drugs. It’s called evidence, and on a reality show the evidence for something like that would be found very easily and most definitely presented (for ratings)
