Can We Talk About “Butch” from “Teen Mom”
I’m not going to lie. I watch Teen Mom on MTV. It’s good. It is. Screw you for judging me. I know you just did. You just did it again. Anytrash, every time Butch shows up on the screen I always think I accidentally sat on my remote control and changed the channel to Fox and am watching the follow up to an episode of COPS.
So Butch is the father of Tyler who goes out with Catelynn who had to give her baby, Carly, up for adoption during the last season of “16 and Pregnant.” I guess now Butch is married to Catelynn’s mom, so Butch is not only Tyler’s dad, but also Catelynn’s stepdad and Catelynn’s mom is Tyler’s stepmom, but Catelynn and Tyler are not technically brother and sister. Take a breath. Just another family tree tracing in the South!
Butch, with his rat-tail-gray-and-black-mullet has been in jail for the majority of Tyler’s life so Tyler basically hates his dad. In the latest episode, Butch may be going back to jail, from what I understand, for pushing Catelynn’s mom. Seriously, what!?! Even I can’t figure this out. All I know is that with parents who appear to be so screwed up, Catelynn and Tyler actually seem to have a great head on their shoulders and have a fighting chance of making something out of their lives. Although, secretly, I’m hoping that Butch gets his own spinoff show. Oh, and by “secretly” I actually mean, “I’m writing a letter to MTV as we speak.”
Oh Butch.

I am so glad you wrote about Butch – and that you noted that Tyler and Catelynn seem to actually have their heads on their shoulders. To me, they are the only ones who seem to understand reality (or maybe Maci, but to a lesser extent).
Every time I see Butch on TV, I feel just a little bit better about my life.

Lol everytime i see butch i smile. he is one reason i watch the show. I thought the same thing as Karen- at first i thought he cut his mullet *GASP* for his court appearance , but ended up tucking it in his jacket, thank god!! Butch without his mullet just wouldn’t be the same. love the COPS reference. sooo true. LOL Ecstatic you watch the show, it’s one of my new favorites!

Yeah it’s insane how well adjusted these two kids are, especially with these two as parents. Hopefully things work out for them. Also, hopefully it’s almost time for Catelynn to get her braces off.

OMG OMG OMG … Catelyn’s mom is a WORST mother EVER … the way she lets her moron husband talk to her daughter … she needs to be SHOT … if ANYONE had even thought about talking to one of my kids like that I’d beat them silly and would NEVER EVER have ANYTHING to do with them ever again …
Butch and the piss poor mother are losers … they cannot take care of themselves at all (moving into a ONE BR apt., that is just SICK and wrong when she has a 17 year old DAUGHTER) yet they complain that their kids gave their baby up … WTF were they supposed to do when the adults cant take care of themselves how in thew world would they have helped Catelyn and Tyler with a baby ????
Those 2 ‘adults’ are two of THE MOST selfish people, they are WORSE than a Jerry Springer episode … I wonder if Catelyn was mistakenly given to the wrong mother, she is 10x more mature that her “mom” …
Tyler and Catelyn are 2 very mature level headed teenagers and I give a lot of credit to Tylers mom for taking care of both of them … she is the only real adult those 2 kids have …
