“The City” Makes Their “Own” Elle Magazine Jessica Alba Cover. Kudos to the Props Department!
Fool me 17 times shame on you. Fool me 4,347 times shame on me (and a little shame on you too, still). Look, it’s not like we don’t know that The City and The Hills script the shit out of their episodes. Fine, they “coach” the shit out of their episodes. But, this may be the most scripted (literally) event that has taken place on The City since that one episode of The Hills where Heidi/Spencer happened to show up at Ketchup with Lauren/Brody. Yet, I still watch.
Anypalermo, if the 10 of you who are watching The City recall, in Monday’s crapisode Whit got piggity-pissed at Olivia for taking the credit for “pulling the clothes” for the Elle Magazine Jessica Alba cover. The two skanks in charge at Diane Von Fartandburp even showed Whitney and Olivia what the cover is going to look like and, wow, it happens to be the shot of Alba in the clothes that Whitney picked and not Olivia. Drama. Yeah, so, uh, the real cover of Elle Magazine with Jessica Alba is not only NOTHING like the one that The City showed, but she’s also wearing NOTHING that Whitney and Olivia picked out. Hurtful.
My final thought on the recap stands true, then. The cake in the background of the last scene was the most interesting (and believable) part of the show. How rude! What was I thinkinK?

Most of the people who buy the magazine are subscriber so it’s really not a big deal. -

@ Victor: Uh, I’m so fucking dumb ALL of the time. I still don’t believe it. I passed 200 magazine stands in NYC today and NONE of them have the “other cover.” I’m sure it exists, but probably just for “The City.”

Different Elle covers for different areas of the US versus subscriber covers. The one you posted is different than the one we have in Chicago newstands also. The cover from the City is the subscribers cover of Elle.

i cant believe this cuz i actually watch these shows and even tho i know they’re not real i still watch them and get so excited when new episodes come out! i think maybe deep way deep down inside i want it to be real so bad. i want someone to actually live their life the way they claim to but it’s definitely too good to be true. mtv keeps these shows going becuz it is a hit show and they know its scripted so there will never be at a lost for material. i used to always think to myself, and i still do, how do they have all this drama! but yep it’s definitely scripted. and a lot of people say y dont they just admit it, but no. they’re ratings will go down, becuz then it’s like ultimate betrayal and also we as viewers would rather watch it knowing deep down in our hearts its fake then to be exposed to the truth and have our intelligence be completely insulted and have us feel like stupid people that make these people that deceive us freakin rich! even tho thats what we are and what we’ve always been…nevertheless we watch religiously.

and by the way, i read an interview with audrina, and when they asked if the hills was acted or real, she didn’t really answered the question, but she only said that they don’t really have a script. so i think it’s partly real, but they’re making a bigger deal of things than it actually is, or else it wouldn’t be so interesting. but whatever, i like the hills and the city, so i dont care if its real or fake :]
